Our
story

As a support service, Mores provides a safety net for employees and students in the cultural, creative, and media sectors who are dealing with transgressive behavior and cannot or do not wish to approach a confidential counselor within their own organization.

Organizations, executives, and managers can turn to Mores’ advisory center with questions about prevention and developing policies to ensure a safe working environment.

In addition to advice, Mores offers a platform for knowledge sharing and raising awareness. Through webinars, events, and online tools, Mores brings together experiences and expertise from various sectors, enabling organizations and professionals to learn from one another.

Mores was founded in 2018 in response to reports of transgressive behaviour in the theatre world. What initially came to light was only the tip of the iceberg. The seriousness of the incidents led to the creation of Mores.online, where professionals from the arts sector joined forces to provide victims with a safe place to share their stories.

In the following years, Mores grew into a well-known name for those seeking support. The number of affiliated organizations and institutions increased, and in 2022 Mores received a record number of 365 reports. That year, several major revelations on television programs brought transgressive behaviour sharply into public focus.

In 2023, Mores underwent an important transition. Following discussions about the independence of its board, a new board was appointed with no ties to the cultural, creative, or media sectors. This step marked the beginning of a new phase focused on professionalization and expanding the advisory and platform functions.

At the same time, studies conducted in the music, dance, and broadcasting sectors (2023 and 2024) confirmed both the scale and impact of transgressive behaviour. The courage of employees and students who came forward played a crucial role in bringing the subject into the open—on the work floor, in policy discussions, and at the desks of management.

Febe Deug, chair of the board of Mores:
"It cannot be said often enough how much courage it takes to share your story. Sharing your story makes you vulnerable, but it also gives you the chance to take back control over a situation you found yourself in because of someone else's actions."

Our mission
Mores collaborates with more than 60 sector organizations and is supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW). Our goal is to ensure safe working environments within the sector. The field and societal conversation around transgressive behaviour will continue to develop extensively in the coming years.

As Febe Deug emphasizes:
"In recent years, many and sometimes significant steps have been taken by organizations and institutions. At the same time, there is still much work to be done. Mores’ mission is to continuously advocate for safe working environments in the sectors it supports."
