Measuring Employee Satisfaction
As a supervisor or manager, it is important to stay well informed about what is happening within your organisation. A valuable tool for this is an employee satisfaction survey. Share the results of this survey with your employees, discuss with the workforce how you plan to address areas for improvement, and demonstrate that you are taking action. However, do not rely solely on average scores. Even with high overall satisfaction, inappropriate behaviour may still be present in the workplace.
Exit interviews
In addition to an employee satisfaction survey, there are of course other ways to evaluate employees’ experiences. To gain a more complete picture of the organisational culture, consider conducting structured exit interviews. Departing employees can provide valuable insights about the work atmosphere and potential areas for improvement.
Evaluation interviews
New employees bring a fresh perspective. By having a conversation with them after a few weeks, you can gather valuable feedback on the work culture and organisational processes. They will have formed an impression of the work environment but can also reflect on it with their ‘outside’ knowledge.
